A ceiling fan box is not the same as a light fixture box. That one sentence is the difference between a fan that hums quietly for fifteen years and one that wobbles itself loose over your bed.
A-Team Electricians installs ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor lighting, and recessed lighting across the Las Vegas valley — including fan installs where no fixture existed before, which means new wiring, a fan-rated box, and a switch. Licensed, insured, upfront pricing, and every install anchored and wired to code.
TL;DR
Anyone can hang a fan on existing wires. The trade is in the box, the blocking, and the switch loop behind the drywall.
Ceiling fans put a rotating, vibrating load on their mount. Code requires a fan-rated box — one designed and listed for that stress — fastened to structure, not just to drywall. Builder-grade homes here often have plastic light boxes in bedroom ceilings; hang a fan on one and it loosens a little with every hour of runtime. If your fan wobbles, clicks, or has drifted away from the ceiling, that's the usual story. The fix is a proper box and brace, and it's quick for us to do.
This is the job people assume is impossible without tearing the ceiling open. Usually it isn't. We run cable from an existing circuit or the panel, cut in a fan-rated box, mount a switch where you actually want it, and leave paint-ready patches. Attic access makes it easier; no attic access makes it a little more surgical, not impossible. Where the work adds a new circuit, a permit applies — our permit guide explains when, and we handle it either way.
Every job is quoted upfront in writing before we start.

For a like-for-like swap on a fan-rated box, a handy homeowner can manage. For anything else — no existing fixture, an unknown or plastic box, tall ceilings, outdoor locations, or new switches — a licensed electrician is the right call. The failure mode isn't inconvenience; it's a 40-pound machine over a bed.
Yes. Light-to-fan conversions get a fan-rated box and often a new switch loop for separate fan/light control. Blank-ceiling installs add the wiring run. Both are everyday work for us.
Nine times out of ten: the box. A standard fixture box wasn't made for rotating load and works itself loose. Occasionally it's blade balance — we check both, fix the real cause, and re-secure the mount to structure.
Yes — high-ceiling work is a scheduling detail for us, not a special project. Heavy fixtures also get their anchoring checked and upgraded as part of the install.
Usually, and modern LED cans make it easier: less heat, lower load, slim housings for tight joist bays. The parts that matter are insulation-contact ratings, circuit capacity, and layout — which is design work, and we help with it.
Yes — on damp/wet-rated fixtures and exterior-rated circuits with proper GFCI protection. A Vegas patio without a fan is unusable four months a year; this fix is cheaper than most people expect.
